Sun Key chips are the most feature packed chip for Wii on the market. It offers automatic boot of all Wii backups (copy games), Wii original games, and Wii region free
for import overseas games. Once you have your wii modded Gamecube backups will also function. Homebrew for Wii is also supported and includes DVD movie players, Wii USB Loader which can be used to store backup games, game system emulators (ie Nintendo, Atari, Arcade, Master System), homebrew games and more. Why we don’t do Wii softmod solutions
At Mods-HQ we pride ourselves in providing only the best solutions for our customers. For this reason we use only Wii hard mod options like the SunKey and not cheaper softmod Wii solutions. The problem with those Wii mod installerslwho deal with softmod wii solutions and “how to softmod a wii” guides on the net are that the software mods are only only temporary and can even kill your Wii when its updated. Unfortunately Wii update (s) come on game discs and are quite often required to be installed in order to play the game. Once you select to update Wii the Wii soft mod is completely deleted or your Wii motherboard may die from the update. Sadly this means that in the long-term options like the Wii usb loader otherwise known as the Wii loader and wii loader usb ; backup launcher wii and even the Wii homebrew channel are not the best options. Instead if your looking for a Wii hard disk mod we recommend the WODE .(INSERT here soon)

How to Identify your Console Version --- Wii Console
The serial number is located on the side of the Wii
console underneath the UPC code and next to the console fan. Please note these serial numbers are only for Australian Wii consoles.

2 Gig Card – Wii homebrew installer
To add a 2 gig card option to run the homebrew channel Wii the cost is between $25 for v1 to v2 wiis, $21 for V3 Wii, and $19 for a v4 Wii. The 2 gig card runs GeckoOS that improves the region free Wii ability for Wii System Update 4.1 and lower. Gecko OS also allows Wii 4.3 homebrew to run, and recovers region free for consoles with Wii System Update 4.2 and Wii System Update 4.3. Wii update. With the 2 gig Wii unlocker method Wii apps include a DVD movie player, Media Player, Game System Emulators, and Wii home brew games.
